Boise Shop Revamp
With the addition of a new member to the Mahogany House WoodWorks team, we quickly realized the need to reorganize and get familiar with our inventory and supplies. Our boise shop revamp has been going well is nearly close to completion.
One of the major issues was the graffiti all over the walls. There used to be several boys living in this garage before we bought the place. So the garage was not very well kept. And the graffiti kept showing up in all of our photos!
Working as a 2 man team requires us to be on the same page but with our own unique vantage point. And our own strengths that we can add to each other.

Mike Spomer is a retired woodworker who is great at organization and process. He has been a family friend of ours for the last 10 years and we are excited that he is a very first hire. With his skills and addition to the our expanding and growing shop, we will be able to tackle more at a more sustainable pace. He will allow us to continue expanding.
The local Boise custom furniture market is growing and expanding at a healthy pace. Its exciting to see and be a part of. People are understanding the need to buy products that last instead of a filling up a landfill. There are certainly many big box stores around the Treasure Valley but customization options are minimal. And shipping times take a very long time. We feel fortunate enough to have jumped back into the fine furniture market here in Boise Idaho when we did.
There are a lot of builds on the dock this summer and we are excited to continue growing and expanding our selection of pieces.
We will be adding in professional quality dust collection. This will help keep the life of our tools up and allow us a cleaner work space all around. A clean shop is a fun shop to be in! We are also upgrading to a larger bandsaw with more resew capacity. We are excited about the opportunities this new saw will open up for us.
Our Boise shop revamp has gained us some valuable floor space which is allowing us to the ability to add in some much needed tools with more power and capacity.

We plan on adding in a new larger and upgraded drill press to take on larger and more complex projects. This Boise shop revamp has also been a great opportunity to clean all of our existing tools and do some much needed maintenance. The tools are happy once again!
